Parallax

For piano. Parallax is the shift in perception we experience when viewing an object from various angles. I wanted to explore the subtle nuances that occur when we slowly revolve around a point of focus. Chords, melodies and intervals are subjected to varied repetition and I am interested in how our perception of these objects as listeners changes over time. For instance, if a melody is repeated and gradually condensed, at what point might we then view it as an arpeggiated chord? Do we still view it as the same object? Is its function still the same?
